Anti-Ragging Cell

In conformity with the hon’ble Supreme Court judgements and directions, UGC guidelines on curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, and State Govt. instructions, Cluny Women’s College, Kalimpong has formed an Anti-Ragging Committee with an objective to keep a strict vigil and stop the incidences of ragging in the college.

Vision: 
To build a ragging free environment.

Mission:
To create an environment of discipline by sending the message that this college follows zero tolerance policy towards ragging.

Objectives:

  1. Anti-ragging Committee will be the supervisory and advisory committee in preserving culture of ragging free environment in the college. The main objectives of this committee are as follows:
  2. To make the students aware of the dehumanising effects of ragging.
  3. To keep a continuous vigil so as to prevent the occurrence and recurrence of ragging.
  4. To deal with any incident of ragging brought to the notice of the committee promptly and stringently.
  5. To generate an atmosphere of discipline.

Academic Session -2017-18
The members of the anti-ragging committee met the students of the 1st year on 24/07/2017 at the Declan hall to discuss matters related to ragging.

The following members were present in the Meeting:

  3. Mrs  Akhangsa Mukhia
  4. Mr. Aman Khati
  5. Miss Diksha Tamang (Student representative)

Minutes:

  1. The Convenor of the Committee Dr. R.B. Bhujel, Principal, made the students aware of the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions and this institution’s zero tolerance policy to ragging.
  2. Mrs Akhangsha Mukhia explained the guidelines laid down by UGC on curbing the menace of ragging in higher institutions.
  3. Mrs. Mamta rai asked the students to fill in the anti-ragging Affidavit and submit the same .She also assure the students, that the members of the committee would provide any kind of help in filling of the affidavit form.

Academic Session -2018-19
The members of the anti-ragging committee made the 1st semester students in the Orientation programs 05.07.2018 at the Declan Hall to make them aware of the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions.

Minutes:

  1. Dr. R.B.Bhujel,The Convenor of the Committee, explained to the students the UGC guide lines on Curbing the menace of ragging in Higher Institutions ,2019. He also stressed upon the importance of building ragging free environment by instilling the principles of democratic value,tolerance , empathy ,compassion and sensitivity to the students.
  2. Mrs. Mamta Rai urged the students to submit the filled in anti-ragging affidavit form.
  3. The committee members can be contacted by the students if they face any difficulty in filling in the affidavit.

The members of the anti-ragging committee met the students of the 1st Semester on 03.07.2019 at the Declan hall.

  1. Dr. R.B. Bhujel, Principal, explained to the students the UGC Regulations regarding ragging in higher educational institutions.
  2. Mr. Kaushik Roy, the convenor, asked the students to submit the duly filled in anti-ragging affidavit form. He also made the students aware of the consequences of committing ragging.

Academic Session -2020-21
Due to pandemic and nation wise lockdown an online meeting was held to make the students aware of the UGC guidelines regarding ragging.
